Special Session of Jharkhand Assembly: Hemant Soren wins the trust vote, 45 votes were cast in favour
Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren won the trust vote amid the walkout of the opposition in the special session of Jharkhand assembly. As many as 45 members expressed confidence in Soren.

JMM rebels Chamra Linda and Lobin Hembrome also supported the government. JP Patel remained absent. Saryu Rai remained neutral.
Soren is an ED accused in a case of tribal land scam. He was in jail. One June 28, Jharkhand High Court granted him regular bail. On July 4 he became chief minister after the INDIA bloc legislators chose him leader and Champai Soren resigned.
