Jharkhand CM Champai resigns, Hemant stakes claim

Ranchi: Jharkhand chief minister Champai Soren tendered his resignation to governor C P Radhakrishnan.

The development took place in the evening after INDAI bloc decided to make Hemant Soren the chief minister of Jharkhand again.


As Champai tendered his resignation, Hemant, who bailed out a few days ago from jail, staked claim to form the government.

Congress in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir, State Congress President Rajesh Thakur and RJD leader Satyanand Bhokta were present with him. Champai Soren and Hemant Soren came out of the Raj Bhavan together.

Both addressed the media. Hemant said that all things are clear and whatever happens will be informed to everyone. Champai said he resigned on his own will. He said in Hemant’s absence he performed his responsibility well.
