8th Asian Goju-Ryu Karate Championship: Players from Jharkhand won 20 medals including 6 gold 

 

Ranchi: Players from Jharkhand won 6 gold, 5 silver and 9 bronze medals in the 8th Asian Goju-Ryu Karate Championship.
The event was organized at Shree Chhatrapati Shivaji Sports Complex National Games Park, Pune, Maharashtra on 7, 8 and 9 June.
Teams from all countries of the continent of Asia participated in it. Selected players from Jharkhand State Union of Goju-Ryu Karate Organization also participated in the Indian team.

Gold Medal winners
1. Rudra Pratap Singh – Kata (10 years 49 kg)
2. Zoya Fatima – Kata (19 years 80 kg)
3. Vedika Lal – Kumite (13 years 68 kg)
4. Prachi Tirkey – Kumite (24 years 80 kg)
5. Aril Kisku – Kumite (11 years 36 kg)
6. Zoya Fatima – Kumite (19 years 80 kg)

Silver medal winners 
 
1. Samriddhi Pandey – Kata (14 years 44 kg)

2. Prachi Tirkey – Kata (24 years 80 kg)

3. Vedant Lal – Kata (11 years 55 kg)

4. Kamalnath Mahato – Kata (10 years 24 kg)

5. Vedant Lal – Kumite (11 years 55 kg)

1. Samriddhi Pandey – Kumite (14 years 44 kg)

2. Asmita Shah – Kata (10 years 39 kg)

3. Srujanika – Kata (14 years 46 kg)

On this achievement of the players of Jharkhand state, the President of National Union of Goju-Ryu Karate Do Federation, Shihan Dheeraj Pawar praised all the players and coach Sensei Poonam Singh and congratulated them calling it a great achievement.

Shihan Syed Mujeeb Uddin, President of Jharkhand State Union of Goju-Ryu Karate Organization, General Secretary Shihan Sadhan Chandra Lohar and Secretary Ashish Pandey congratulated all the players and coaches and asked them to keep bringing glory to the state of Jharkhand in the same way and also thanked all the parents who supported the organization by sending their selected children in it.
